About me
Writing, for me, has been an innate skill that I’ve honed over the years. I’m a published writer and SEO Content Specialist by day, and a lifestyle blogger by night. I currently work in luxury marketing, providing SEO content and copywriting services on a freelance basis. You can see some of my published work here.
I’m a serial hobbyist and in the last few months alone I’ve taken up reading, running, gardening, watercolour painting and embroidery.
The AQL Vision
A Quiet Life is my little corner of the internet where my vision is to inspire and entertain. This blog is for busy parents, creative individuals or anyone who wants to be entertained by the exciting life of a 30-something mom in her prime. Here, you won’t find Pinterest-perfect parenting or impeccably styled homes, but rather a chaotic world of spilled juice boxes, mismatched socks, and the perpetual quest for the TV remote. A Quiet Life Blog is like a support group for those who’ve mastered the art of hiding in the bathroom just to have a moment of peace.
About the AQL Blog
As my kids are getting older (at a much faster rate than I would like), I find myself wondering what I want to teach them and what I would like for them to be one day. Apart from dreaming of the day when they can conquer the bathroom without needing my expert assistance, I’d also like them to be kind humans who love themselves just as much as I do.
I want them to be able to use what they are naturally good at to leave the world just a little better than they found it. And that’s why I started A Quiet Life; because the best way to teach them that important lesson, is to lead by example. AQL is my way of using what I’ve got to glorify the Author of my own life. If, in the process of teaching my kids to use their talents, I can make a difference in the lives of those around me, I would consider this blog a success and my job done.
